White House, Celebs Support #EqualPayDay





On average, for every $1 men earn, women still earn 78 cents.
Politicians and celebs alike took to social media to show support for #EqualPayDay.
(The day represents how far into 2015 women would have to work to earn what men earned in 2014.)
The White House released a video on Twitter and YouTube, citing that the average woman will have lost $420,000 over her lifetime due to the pay gap.
The White House asked folks to retweet if they agreed it is time for equal pay for women.
Wage gap more harmful to certain groups. Calif. Latinas earn $.44 for every $1 men earn, an annual gap of nearly $39,000.
Senator  Dianne Feinstein from California;
She gave the example of California Latinas, who earn $.44 for every $1 men earn, which results in an annual gap of nearly $39,000.
Meanwhile, Vice President Biden said, "It's common sense. It is also overdue."
