Nudity in film and cable television has become more and more common. As the Hollywood film industry pushes the boundaries of what is acceptable in modern society, there are still many celebrities who, so far, are refusing to appear nude in front of the camera. Here are 11 of the hottest celebs you won’t see in the buff anytime soon…
1. Cameron Diaz
One of the highest paid actresses working in film today, appearing in movies like the popular sexually-charged comedy ‘There’s Something About Mary,’ is maintaining that she is staying clad, for now. “I don’t say that I won’t do nudity for other people’s benefit. It has nothing to do with other people, it’s just what I’m comfortable with.”
2. Jessica Alba
Although Alba has stripped down to the bare minimum in movie roles such as “Into the Blue,” the star insists on nudity clauses in her contracts and remains true to her religious views. “I don’t do nudity. I just don’t. Maybe that makes me a bad actress. Maybe I won’t get hired in some things. But I have too much anxiety”.

3. Renee Zellweger
Starring in adult comedies like ‘Bridget Jones’ Diary’ and its sequel, Zellweger maintains that she doesn’t have to shed her clothes to get work. “I wouldn’t say I can choose absolutely any movie role I wanted – so many variables play into it. But you can always choose what you don’t want to do – like if I see a script that says, ‘Close up on booby first shot,’ I’ll probably say pass to that.”
4. Jessica Simpson
Simpson, the child of a youth pastor, insists she will never take off her clothes for a movie role. “I will never do nudity. I don’t care how dark and intellectual the role could be, you know. I don’t care if I frickin‘could get an Oscar for it, I’m not going to do it…”
5. Julia Roberts
The highly-paid actress of films such as ‘Pretty Woman’ and ‘Erin Brokovich’ says she will not perform in the nude now that she has children of her own. “I wouldn’t do nudity in a film. To act with my clothes on is a performance. To act with my clothes off is a documentary.”
6. Mandy Moore
Pop singer Moore, who provided the singing talent for the popular Disney animation film ‘Tangled,’ is not comfortable with shedding her clothes for the big screen. “I feel oftentimes I’ve been attached to a film and then, at the last second, someone has said, like, ‘OK, well this is an absolute necessity – this scene requires nudity and there’s no two ways around it.’ I’m like, ‘I really believe there’s so much of that which could be implied and it’s just gratuitous.’ I’m not comfortable within my own skin.”
7. Carrie-Anne Moss
The actress from the ‘Matrix’ films and ‘Disturbia’ has placed her body off limits to public view. “I’m just not like that at all. My first thought would be, ‘What would my mother think?’ “Besides, lots of actresses like Julia Roberts and Michelle Pfeiffer don’t do nudity, so I don’t think it’s so important… For me there’s also the feeling that since I’m married, there’s a kind of sacredness to the body.”
8. Ashley Greene
Despite her popularity as vampire Alice in the ‘Twilight’ movies, Greene does not have any plans to appear nude in the near future because of the social implications for women. “I will never say never. I will say, at this moment, nudity in a film is something that does turn me off because of the context that it’s put into most of the films. It exploits women, and it’s not artistic at all.”
9. Anna Kendrick
Another ‘Twilight’ actress, Kendrick is not interested in shedding her clothes for a movie role. “Emphatically, no. I will not do that. I have been lucky because I have not been pigeonholed into the teenage movie category. I am not criticizing people who do nude scenes but I plan to keep doing what I am doing and hope it keeps going good.”
10. Megan Fox
The ‘Transformers’ star refuses to even consider nude scenes. Her reasons? “’Ugh, never! That’s the last thing I want to see- what I look like having sex. I can’t ever imagine myself doing nudity in a film. It lives forever, especially now, with the Internet. I just can’t. I just can’t.’
11. Reese Witherspoon
Witherspoon, starring with Joaquin Phoenix in ‘Walk the Line’ and comedies like ‘Sweet Home Alabama’ and ‘Legally Blonde,’ is quick to state she will not shed her clothes for a film role. “If [actresses] take their clothes off, they objectify themselves. I am flabbergasted by how many legitimate actresses do it.”
